The Department of Human Anatomy at Lady Hardinge Medical College imparts Anatomy education to 200 undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing courses in Medicine, Surgery, and Nursing. With hands-on cadaveric dissection, the students undertake a comprehensive and integrated course in Gross Anatomy, Neuroanatomy and Microscopic Anatomy and Developmental anatomy which forms a basis for a bright medical career. Our faculty offers a platform where Anatomy is taught with emphasis on clinical applications in each course. Since dissection remains the main modality of study, the Department has been working strenuously on its ‘Voluntary Body Donation’ facility. The second successful year of the awareness campaign has been marked by the magazine ‘Tribute to a silent Teacher – The Human Body’.
This is a heartfelt dedication to the whole body donors & their next of kin from the young professionals of medical fraternity.
Collaborations are key in reaching the community with the message of ‘Body Donation’ for this, we thank our supporting NGOs like Dadhichi Deh Dan & ORGAN India. I also congratulate the department for its contribution and the Director, LHMC for his kind support.
