The Organ & Body Donation Awareness Campaign (2016 -2017 ) was a significant year marked by various exclusive initiatives taken by Lady Hardinge Medical College. The closing ceremony of this year’s campaign was a huge success. The event was graced by the  Honorable Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Shri J P Nadda as the Chief Guest. He felicitated Next of Kin of whole Body Donors, newly registered Donors & the volunteers who have worked hard for the entire year. We salute the spirit of  6 motivational families who were associated with us in the year 2016 -2017.

The platform also saw the release of the Magazine – Tribute To Silent Teacher – The Human Body, which showcases the stories of our Body Donors based on the interviews of their Next of Kin. We congratulate our 15 very enthusiastic undergraduate medical students  who penned down these stories based on their interactions with the families and also showcased  them in the form of short documentaries. The documentaries were applauded by the dignitaries and highly appreciated by the Chief Guest. It was an indeed a proud moment for the institute.

The institute also released its website www.organandbodydonation.com officially dedicated for this noble social cause. This will help us to reach a larger community and inspire more people for the cause.

The event also saw the launch of ‘Directory on Body Donation’ an initiative by Prashar Foundation, ORGAN India.

It was a very significant occasion for LHMC in which the Honorable Minister  made a special mention to help the institute by all means and appreciated all the efforts of the faculty & students in his inspirational speech.
